Gospel Victory Academy School is located in an area called Mathare in Nairobi, Kenya. The Mathare Education Project was born in 2018 and Gospel Victory Academy School started. The project started with only 41 children and has now grown over the years to 231 children. Most of the 231 children attending Gospel Victory Academy School are the poorest of the poor. The school allows children to be enrolled at a subsidized $15 school fee per month, which caters for one meal per day as well as school supplies. As of January 2020 there are over 231 children currently enrolled and only 30% of the school fees are paid for.
Why Scholarship? Oftentimes, parents and/or guardians are forced to give up their guardianship to orphanages simply because they’re unable to provide the most basic needs for their children: food, medical care, and education. Children who have living, healthy family members can and do become orphans overnight. It is hard for a family member to even produce a school fee of $15 per month for their children and also provide them with food on the table. This Scholarship Program provides a learning environment, daily meals, and discipleship for every student.
